Making Sense of It All
Animal, Vegetable, or Mineral?

Remembering the question...

Does everything in our lives come from something?  If yes, where does it all come from?

Your teacher will tell you which of the following tasks to complete.

1) Imagine that you are an inventor and have been given a pile of minerals. Draw pictures to make a book that shows what you would invent with the mineral. Show each step of your invention from mineral to product. What happens first, second, third, and so on to ? Write a description of each step on each of your pictures. If you are not yet a writer, your teacher will help you.

OR

2) Using old catalogs and magazines, find many pictures of items that come from an animal, vegetable, or mineral and cut them out. Paste all the pictures of items that come from animals on one page and label it. Do the same thing for the vegetable pictures and the mineral pictures. Then on each page, draw a big red circle around the one item you think is most important to you. Tell your teacher why it is the most important when you share your work with her.
