Looking Deeper from Different Perspectives

Keeping in mind the The BIG Question:

Wyoming minerals are developed into conveniences and services that make our modern life more enjoyable. Are some of these goods and services more essential than others?

Task #4: As a team, refer to your charts from the Mining section of the quest. Make a list of the goods and services which come from mineral development that you think all five of these Wyoming citizens would agree are the most important, regardless of their different occupations, hometowns, hobbies, and concerns.

In discovering common needs, did you also uncover some possible differences? Would the rancher from Cody place different importance on certain products than the buildling contractor from Laramie? Your team may need to learn more about each Wyoming hometown in order to predict similarities and differences. Click the hometown links in the chart above to find information about each of these cities. Discuss how occupation, hobbies, location, and special concerns might cause these neighbors to disagree about what mineral based goods and services are the most essential.

Task #5: As a team, predict two or three differences of opinion that the five neighbors might have as a result of their different occupations, hobbies and recreational interests, hometowns, and special concerns. Justify your predictions in short written explanations.
