You have just been hired as the Director of Human Resources of WY Coal. Human resource managers help maintain working relationships between employers and employees.  They oversee hiring, benefits, salaries, training and more. Director of Human Resources

Job Summary

Human resources managers are the backbone of every company. They work with employers and employees. They have a wide range of responsibilities which include answering questions about the company health plan, helping coworkers work out disagreements, and making sure that supervisors treat employees fairly. Other duties include coordinating and participating in interviewing, selecting, and assigning personnel to jobs. The HR manager reviews evaluations and disciplinary actions, and participates in hearings related to evaluations and adverse actions. In this job you’ll be responsible for making sure that everyone is happy. 

Job Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in education or human resources management; administration, or supervision course work preferred. Experience in some aspect of personnel work and leadership/supervisory experience. Possible consideration of other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position. A thorough knowledge of a mining organization, state and federal laws, and rules and regulations pertaining to employment. Exceptional interpersonal skills, oral and written communications, and leadership and supervisory skills. Must pass drug test. 

Additional Responsibilities

Frequent overtime and/or night work required.  Ability to work unusual hours and overtime as required by projects, including overnight stay, if required. Limited summer leave.
