MAGICHITE!

Keeping the big question in mind ...

How do the competing needs of various members of society influence changes in the way we live?

Task #4: As a team, divide and conquer the following research. Return to the group with clear and legible notes to share from the website(s) you were responsible for visiting.

In this quest, it's your turn to find informative and reliable sites on the web. Apply all of your previous research and internet experience to seek out the richest sources of information that you can in an efficient manner. You may want to brainstorm lists of keywords to use in your searches as a team before you begin your individual research.

1) Get an overview of federal legislation which governs mining activities at the National Mining Association website.

2) Consider viewpoints about land use from representatives of the tourism and recreation industries.

3) Gain an insight into the opinions of the agriculture and ranching communities regarding land use.

4) Gather a sense of the issues according to real estate developers and city planners.

5) Find out the concerns of wildlife biologists and naturalists regarding land use and habitat.
