Student safety tour

Keeping the big question in mind ...

How can you maximize your chances for successfully completing a Minequest?

In Processing Information, you’ll start to make sense of your research. Many Minequests involve working with teammates. Use your team time wisely so that you don’t jeopardize the chance to work together.

Even in webquests, not all websites are created equal. As you exchange information and work through tasks and problems with your team, take time to evaluate the reliability of the sites you visit. Identify any specific positions that a website is advocating or making a case for. This can help you interpret the information that you find at each site and reconcile or balance differences of opinion represented among sites.

Supplementary worksheets for some webquests often show up as links in the processing page. They are somethimes found on other pages as well. These files are in downloadable PDF format. Your teacher will tell you whether you should download and print the file(s) or if you will be provided with copies. If you are directed to download and print them, listen for additional instructions from your teacher that might help you navigate through the downloading process. This will vary according to the operating system of your school computer. When you select the link to the handout, a separate window should open, where you will view the file. Depending on your operating system, other windows may or may not appear. You can always return to the Minequest by finding your way back to the original window that should have remained open on your desktop.
