About Teamwork

Teamwork skills are important to the success of all kinds of businesses and industries, including the partners who form the Wyoming Mining Industry. Wherever possible, Minequests include the use of teamwork in the learning journey. But teamwork skills require instruction and practice.

If your other classroom instruction does not generally include the teamwork option, you will want to review the tasks requiring teamwork and either:

• consider how you might additionally need to support their teamwork with preparation before beginning a webquest or monitoring for successful teamwork during the journey. Clarifying and demonstrating the look and sound of your expectations for behavior for teamwork is essential, whether your students are fourth graders or high school seniors, or
• change the tasks to be completed individually. However, teamwork is at the heart of some components in some Minequests and in some cases, requiring work to be done individually would unreasonably extend the amount of class time required for completion. 

Considering how you will deal with the teamwork aspect of a Minequest is another important reason for always previewing all parts of a Minequest before assigning students to begin.
